The Register of Deeds Office records all land transactions, births, deaths, and marriages that occur in Haywood County. The office maintains the real property index in the county, including deed easements, right-of-ways and leaseholds; instruments of Security (mortgages, Deeds of Trust) and conditional sales contracts, military service personnel records; qualification and terms of office of notaries public and corporation records, including charters, amendments and dissolutions; partnership agreements and businesses operating under assumed names.

Deeds of Trust or Mortgage.
For registering or filing a deed of trust or
mortgage, whether written, printed,
typewritten, or electronic, the fee shall be
twenty-four ($24.00) for the first page plus
three ($3.00) for each additional page or
fraction thereof.

Re-recorded Deeds of Trust or Mortgage.
For registering or filing a re-recorded deed
of trust or mortgage, whether written,
printed, typewritten, or electronic, the fee
shall be twenty-two ($22.00) for the first
page plus three ($3.00) for each additional
page or fraction thereof plus two ($2.00) for
verification, if required.
